WhatsApp Business AI: Meta’s agent or an AI front desk?
Meta now has an AI agent inside the WhatsApp Business app. Here is what it does, what we know about the price, and how it compares with an AI front desk.
Six questions, about three minutes to read.
What is Meta Business Agent?
An AI agent from Meta inside the WhatsApp Business app, opened to businesses worldwide on 3 June 2026. You give it your catalog, business description, address and hours, and it answers customers’ questions and can recommend your products. Customers are told the business uses AI from Meta and can ask for someone from your team, and you can take over any chat. Meta itself says AI messages may sometimes be inaccurate.
What does it cost?
Getting started is free, up to a limit Meta does not publish. For more, Meta sells Meta One plans: business plans start at US$14.99 a month (Essential) and go up to US$499 (Max). Meta says plans, prices and availability may vary by region, and we have not found Malaysian prices.
Does it work in Malaysia?
Not clear yet. Meta’s announcement says Meta One is available globally, but its help page says Meta One is still in limited testing and the agent is not available in some countries. To see what your account has, open the WhatsApp Business app and go to Settings, then Subscriptions.
Are there rules for AI answering customers?
Yes. WhatsApp’s Business Messaging Policy says you may use automation to reply, but customers must have a prompt, clear way to reach a person, and you may only message people who gave you their number and agreed to hear from you. On Meta’s paid platform, its terms (section 4.7) bar AI companies from offering their AI there when the AI itself is the main product. The terms let a business use an AI provider as its solution provider, but the WhatsApp data may not be used to train AI models, and Meta decides what counts as the main product.
When is Meta’s agent enough?
If your customers mostly ask simple things (hours, location, prices, what is in stock) and your catalog is up to date, try Meta’s agent first. It is built into the app, and getting started is free.
When does an AI front desk make more sense?
When bookings follow rules (party size, opening hours, deposits), when you want every booking saved and your team alerted, or when your customers write in Arabic dialects. Our front desk runs on your own number through Meta’s platform, checks bookings against your rules and sends bigger ones to you, and is tested on real Arabic dialects. It is a monthly plan plus Meta’s message fees.
Tell us about your business. We send you a short plan and the price, then build your site in about a week: in Arabic and English, on your own web address, with orders and bookings going straight to your WhatsApp. WhatsApp Business setup is included.
Get your WhatsApp Business set up
We set up the free WhatsApp Business app properly: business profile, catalog, quick replies, greeting and away messages, labels, Arabic templates, and a click-to-chat link and QR. One session, one price, and free with a Launch website.
Join the pilot list
The WhatsApp front desk answers in your customer’s own dialect and takes the bookings. Its free 30-day pilot opens once the WhatsApp connection is ready. Tell us about your business and Fadi messages you first.
When pilots open, we take on 3 a month, so each one gets our full attention.
